My dad would always say, "I have four." Meaning, us kids, which always made me feel like a slave. However, having a kid be all alone for 4 years is a bit different than having twins. I try to take time out of each day (we do school, chores, making cookies etc--those don't count) to do one fun thing that Elanor would like to do. It can be a walk, reading books, playing a game, doing puzzles, playing with dolls etc. It is nice to have that one on one time to just play and be. It does not even have to be for a long amount of time. But yes, I do agree with everything on here--get your kids working! 😀Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06968499163499682050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-54193229334470179192015-10-31T14:11:08.125-07:002015-10-31T14:11:08.125-07:00This was refreshing to read. It never even occurred to my parents but i somehow have become part of this new generation parenting where we are "over parenting and entertaining" our kids then turn around and wonder why they are so dependent on us!mrembohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16701639603716526611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-46916211344388548012015-10-28T13:04:54.859-07:002015-10-28T13:04:54.859-07:00Also one more comment, what sort of cleaner do you...Also one more comment, what sort of cleaner do you use for the toilet? I've heard that toilet cleaners are like one of the most toxic things in your house so I've been hesitant to let my 5 year old clean the inside (she cleans the outside). But I guess if I'm in there wth her then maybe it's okay? -Danica-https://www.blogger.com/profile/10303457395938139856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-85935176792497930422015-10-28T12:05:42.227-07:002015-10-28T12:05:42.227-07:00Can I tell you how thankful I am for this. We used to be so good now my three year old is all "if mommy isnt watching I cant play" its killing me. Also I needed this push to get him to do more. I am proud he gets dressed and goes to the potty by himself but man he is capable of so much more than that. Thank you! love this post, keep it coming !!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07618606750759139493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-84528454027846587572015-10-28T11:36:42.193-07:002015-10-28T11:36:42.193-07:00I dedicated this summer to teaching my kids how to...I dedicated this summer to teaching my kids how to work and to clean. It's a work in progress, but its one I am so passionate about. Im excited to hear more of your techniques! I love the idea of never doing dishes again....-Danica-https://www.blogger.com/profile/10303457395938139856noreply@blogger.com
