I still tell my boys they're good at things because I think it's important for kids to feel successful, but I think when they get self conscious or competitive, it helps to praise them both in the same way or to focus on how hard they're both working, etc. It's definitely a hard balance to strike.

Also, I love your decision to home school! Some days I really want to, but I'm so afraid of screwing it up! But I really like the way you're going about it. So thanks for the inspiration :)Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05972392092814043792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-8572372878793983472016-01-25T12:27:42.275-08:002016-01-25T12:27:42.275-08:00I found your blog through your Stitch Fix post whe...I found your blog through your Stitch Fix post when I was searching for pictures of a dress I just got from the Golden Tote. I am so glad I did! Finding fellow twin-boy-mamas who are also crafty is always a happy thing! ;) Looking forward to following your posts. :) Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17699055172049185864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8376105108093150009.post-47885236873703186832016-01-24T17:32:50.536-08:002016-01-24T17:32:50.536-08:00I love reading about your boys because I have 1 ye...I love reading about your boys because I have 1 year old twin boys (fraternal). Your post reminded me of a chapter in a book I read (link below). I loved this book because it gave me such a new way to look at things. It might help to focus praise on the effort the boys are putting into reading. Anyway, I don't want to insult you or anything, but I just thought of it when you wrote that Grey thought he was doing "bad" reading.

http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/nurtureshock-parenting-tips-praising-kids-hurt/story?id=8475074Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12509890755052582449noreply@blogger.com
