I belong in the woods. Sometimes I get fooled into thinking that I want to live in rolling farmland or on the beach after a visit. Sometimes I read a book about a cowgirl and think I belong on a ranch.
But the truth is, I need a cabin in the woods. I need a wood burning fireplace and chickadees on my porch in the morning. I need a hammock stretched between two sugar pines, and I don't care about having freshly-mown grass if there are soft sweet needles underfoot.
So this weekend was perfect. We spent the days in my happy place, surrounded by lots of my mom's family.
Pretty much perfect.
Here are some pictures from the weekend, including lots of pictures of my... second cousins once removed? Is that what your parent's cousins' kids are called? We just call everyone"cousin."
So here are some pictures, including my cousins.
(The above picture was taken by my 8-year old sister, she asked to be recognized. :) )
