And if I were a bird,
I would fly about the earth
Seeking the successive Autumns.
(my favorite George Eliot poem.)
But I am not interested in how much Travis hates family pictures. Our family changes too often, we have too many pictures of just the boys, and we have enough camera equipment that four family photos a year is super necessary.
Right?
Right?! (Justify me!)
Anyway, last night we headed up into the chilly Millcreek Canyon by Salt Lake in our photo-best with my talented friend Brittany Mangelson for our yearly October family photos.
I'm pretty much obsessed with how cute they are.
Aren't you?
He responded, "I be a backpack, now."
Those boys and their daddy!
The unposed ones, where's we're getting settled and not looking up and smiling are often my favorite. They look a bit like our actual family. You know.
If you're wondering: October is the best time to take family photos because:
You can wear fall clothes and layer without being too hot, but you don't need winter jackets.
The whole world is beautiful (Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf becomes a flower).
I think, somehow, the light is better than in the spring. It's warm and yellow, but in the spring it's cool and blue. Maybe that's just because everything is yellow and not freshly green.
And lastly, because October is the best time of year for everything.

Delicious Autumn! My very soul is wedded to it!

you just can't beat Fall in the mountains!
Yay! I'm glad you don't hate them (and me). :)
Love, love, love all of the photos and all of you! Thanks Brittany, from Grandma!
CUTE!
yes! luckily I have a husband who loves taking pictures and doesn't mind being in them, so we can usually get good ones of us with just our tripod and timer. We will see how that works out when little ones join us one day!
