I am not on bed rest.
But after a late-night trip to the hospital last night, and a shot in the arm to stop my contractions I was sent back home with these instructions:
Stay at home.
Do not run errands.
Don't go out and browse through sale items at Wal-Mart. (Yep. My nurse said that.)
I am allowed to move around my apartment. I am allowed to shower, and eat and maybe play Dr. Mario on the Ninetendo.
But that's pretty much it.
She also said no vacuuming and no dishes.
But that might have been more for Travis to hear, than actual instruction for me.
And if you're wondering, here's what happened:
I was having contractions and abdominal pain, so I dragged Travis out of bed and we went to the hospital.
The nurses hooked me up to the monitors we use when I go in for an NST. It took no time at all!
They found the babies and the babies stayed put and let us monitor them.
They measured my contractions, which were occurring with some regularity, every 7 to 9 minutes.
I peed in a cup, and they whisked it away to check and see if there was anything wrong with it.
They checked my dilation, and I was a teeny bit dilated, but not really.
So they gave me a shot to stop the contractions and called my doctor for a prescription to take every few hours to keep from having more contractions.
They monitored me a little longer, told Travis to stop taking overnight trips (he is leaving tonight for California!) and sent me home.
They said (although they clarified several times that they can't see the future, so there's no certainty) that the drugs will probably keep me pregnant another week at least, but hopefully two.
Two weeks, guys.
In two weeks I could have my babies.
Oh, and I couldn't help but write a post today even though there's a super awesome Guest Post below.
Check that out too, and have a good weekend!

Temporary Bed Rest

This is how I look today.
And probably how I looked yesterday.
But hopefully not how I will look tomorrow.
I started feeling weird pains on Saturday night, and continued to feel them through Sunday.
My doctor told me I am on temporary bed rest until I go in for an ultrasound, which I will do this afternoon.
It's probably a pulled ligament or something, but there's a chance I'm experiencing pre-term labor pains, and since I'm now a "high-risk" pregnancy (thanks to twins) we have to take precautions.
So today when we go to the doctor I will either be told to keep going to school and work and stop whining, or to stay home in bed and whine loudly to anyone who will listen.
Here's some whining: I want lo-mien really badly, and Travis says I don't need it since I've already eaten a lot this morning, which I have.
But I'm still so hungry!
Anyway, I wasn't going to write this on my blog since I don't want to unnecessarily worry anyone (since it's probably nothing) and I wanted to write about this cute thing I made over the weekend, but I'm not allowed to get up and take its picture.
So this is all I got.
I'll keep you posted.
