Food

Just knowing I am pregnant with twins has made me ravenous.
Like "Can we pleeeeease stop at SmashBurger, again? and then head next door for fish tacos, too?" 15 minutes after eating a large steak.
And then, another 30 minutes passes and we're pulling up to the house and I'm practically banging my head on the dashboard saying "Please, I'm so hungry. I've never been so hungry in my life. All I want is for you to quickly whip up some chili and cornbread, and while I'm waiting for you to cook that I will eat this milkshake and this entire pie."

It's getting somewhat ridiculous.

Luckily, I have been assured that I should be eating absurd amounts of food: 3 big meals and 4 small meals every day.
That's seven meals a day, people.
Every two hours I need a well-balanced meal.

The fact that I'm done with school and work in three weeks is a huge life saver. There's no way I could keep this up on campus. It's hard!
Today before I left for school was a bit crazed. First I ate breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 pieces of wheat toast, a bowl of Bran Flakes (which suddenly I find delicious) and a huge glass (okay - three huge glasses) of grape juice (and I was still a bit hungry, but running too late to eat more)

Then I packed my "mid-morning snack" which consists of a smallish block of cheese, a piece of supreme pizza, a very huge roll and 2 mandarin oranges.

Then I packed my lunch: leftover steak and potatoes and broccoli and a big carton of milk.

Then I packed my " early afternoon snack" which is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a big glass of milk, two more mandarin oranges and a baggie of carrots with ranch.

I should get home at about 3, so I'll be just in time to prepare my "late afternoon snack" which I'm thinking will be grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Followed two hours later by dinner, and I'm planning on pork, potatoes, butternut squash and green beans.

And followed two hours later (again) by my bedtime snack, which will be a milkshake. Yum.

Also, people keep saying "just let me know if you ever need dinner or anything," and so I will come right out and say it:
If you make me dinner I will eat it and appreciate it and love you.
Even if I've already eaten dinner twice that day.

Because "eating for three" is apparently much like "eating enough food for three entire people."
AND I'm supposed to gain 40-50 pounds during my pregnancy and HALF of that is supposed to be before I'm two-thirds along.

So my new goal: to gain 20 pounds by Christmas.
Yes. Christmas.
Actually, I quite look forward to this holiday season.
Thanksgiving here I come.

I wish I was there to feed you lots of delicious food! It sounds to me like you'll be washing lots of dishes. Try to find a new home with a dishwasher!
